About

A compliance business that also owns the shelf.

Most brands entering Australia hire someone to explain the rules, someone else to carry them, and a third party to actually sell the product. AUPRO was set up to be all three.

Australia's electrical and radiocommunications rules aren't unusually strict. They're unusually structural: they require somebody local to be accountable. That single requirement is what stops good products at the border — not the standards themselves.

AUPRO exists to be that somebody. We hold the registrations, we sign the declarations, and we take the regulator's phone call. Because we also distribute, we have a reason to care whether the product sells once it's compliant — which is not true of a consultant who bills by the report.

What we are, and what we're not.

We are
A registered Responsible Supplier. The accountability sits with our entity, not with a document we hand you.
A wholesale distributor that holds its own trading accounts and takes product to Australian retail buyers.
Australian-owned, operating from Epping in Melbourne's north, with the compliance office and the warehouse in the same building.
We are not
A testing laboratory. We assess reports and coordinate testing; ILAC-accredited labs do the testing.
A certification body. We don't issue certificates and we don't hold JAS-ANZ accreditation — anyone telling you they can shortcut that is selling you a problem.
A freight forwarder or customs broker. We work alongside yours, or introduce you to one.
Structure

Two functions, one entity.

Kept deliberately under one ABN, because splitting them is how accountability gets lost between contracts.

The compliance side

Decides what a product actually needs, arranges the testing, prepares and signs the documentation, and maintains the file for as long as the law requires it. This is the side that says no.

The distribution side

Takes cleared product to Australian retail buyers, negotiates and holds the trading account, and runs the fulfilment, invoicing, returns and warranty behind it. This is the side that has to live with what the first side approved.

The tension between the two is the point. A compliance team with no commercial stake waves things through; a sales team with no compliance stake ships things that get recalled.

On the record

Everything here is checkable.

A supplier who won't publish their registration numbers is asking you to take compliance on trust. Look ours up.
